This one’s a great tip! They cook with the seasons, offer à la carte or a surprise chef’s menu, have funky wines, spin vinyl, the vibe is super cozy and there’s a sunny terrace too. What more could you want?

Cafe Coos

Café Coos is such a cute new spot, inspired by the owners’ grandpa Coos and classic Dutch food culture. They serve nostalgic Dutch dishes with a modern twist. Think ontbijtkoek, stamppot, and pure, local flavours. Everything made with love for the season. We love it!

Contra

We seriously love this concept! In the middle of the Red Light District, you’ll now find this cozy jazz bar where you can also have dinner. Word is the food is amazing (still need to try it ourselves). The live music lineup changes every week. A great date-night tip!

Nikotin

Restobar Nikotin is now open in Amsterdam North, by the team behind Nachbar and chef Tim van der Molen. Think Asian-inspired comfort food. Oysters with grilled ginger, kimchi burgers, tempura and natural wines, sake, and cocktails. Super relaxed vibe and a sunny terrace to top it off.

Leonardo’s Raviolibar

Opened in De Pijp, and it’s the perfect spot for handmade, paper-thin ravioli crafted by chef Leonardo Pacenti (the face behind beloved Italian restaurant Toscanini). Expect seasonal fillings, a cosy Italian-inspired interior with warm wood accents, and a relaxed dinner vibe. A dream for pasta lover!

Hoi Tin Café

Hoi Tin has been on the Zeedijk for 50 years, and now the third generation is opening the Hoi Tin Café!  You’ll find tasty treats from Hong Kong like coffee and bolo bao; a soft, sweet bun with a golden crispy top that looks like a pineapple (but no pineapple inside ). Served with a thick slice of salty butter. So good!

TufTuf Amsterdam

The 25+ after-dinner club focused on people in their 30s! The owners noticed that people in their 30s often go out for dinner and then stay for a glass of wine. TufTuf is the perfect place to continue the night! You can stop by for a drink or dance until the early hours. Expect music from the 70s and 80s!

Jinweide Beef Noodles

We still have to try it, but we heard the hand-pulled noodles from Lanzhou (China) here are amazing, and they’re made fresh right in front of you! What more could you want?

Café Café

We love spots where you can enjoy good food and drinks all day, and also want to stay until the late hours on the weekend. A new place like that has just opened by the Amstel in the city center, and it looks super cozy! Plus, they have a big covered terrace.

Copain

Their seasonal à la carte menu offers smaller plates that are perfect for sharing, or you can go for the 4-, 5-, or 6-course chef’s selection. They focus on using local ingredients from small organic farmers and producers. Coptain has a great wine list, but also serves house-made kombuchas and fresh juices for those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks. The restaurant itself has that cool industrial Amsterdam-Noord vibe!

Juno

They cook over an open flame, plates are turned, and there’s a cozy atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot for a lovely night out, preferably without your phone, since that’s what the owners want for this place. There’s no Wi-Fi, and the focus is on music because it’s the first music restaurant in the city!

Tula Cantina

At Tula Cantina, you can walk in all day for a good cup of coffee and Mexican snacks. In the evening, it’s a cozy spot for a cocktail! The owners are Mexican, and the interior really gives off a Mexican vibe.
