One of our favorite parties of the year! Pride Amsterdam is a lively and inclusive celebration of LGBTQ+ rights held annually in the heart of Amsterdam. Taking place from July 27th to August 4th 2024, the famous Canal Pride is on Saturday August 3rd. This festival brings together people from diverse backgrounds to celebrate love, acceptance, and diversity. The Pride features over 300 activities, attracting people from all over the world. TOGETHER is this year’s theme.
The Most Popular Activities and Events
Canal Parade – August 3
The world-famous boat parade sails through the Amsterdam canals on Saturday, August 3rd. The parade starts at 12:00 and follows this route: Oosterdok – Nieuwe Herengracht – Amstel – Prinsengracht – Westerdok. It finishes at 18:00. It’s the main attraction, one big party and so much fun to watch! Beautifully decorated boats sail through Amsterdam’s picturesque canals, filled with people who are partying and wearing the most amazing outfits. Each boat represents various organizations and companies, demonstrating their support for the LGBTQ+ community
Pride March – July 27
On Saturday, July 27th, Pride Amsterdam kicks off with a March to Vondelpark. Join the Pride walk by gathering at 11:00 at Amstelveld, where the first Dutch Pride March began in 1977, organized by the International Lesbian Alliance. At 12:00 PM, participants will march through Utrechtsestraat, Rembrandtplein, Reguliersdwarsstraat, and Leidsestraat to Vondelpark for a day filled with sports, games, performances, and a rainbow market.
Pride at Vondelpark – July 27
The first day of Pride starts at Vondelpark! There will be lots to do, like shopping at the Rainbow Market, joining sports and activities with Sport Pride, checking out the youth area with Youth Pride, and more. The Vondelpark Openluchttheater will be the main stage, where various artists will perform. Starts at 12:00 until 22:00.
Street Parties and Performances – August 2 – 4
Experience the famous street parties and performances across the city! All events are free to enter.

Open Air Cinemas, Pink Movie Nights – July 30 – August 2
Join the free movie nights, which will be held on 3 different locations. For each movie there are 400 seats available, so be on time. Everyone is welcome at the Pink movie nights! Bring your snack and drink. The kick-off is always at 20:00 and the film starts at 21:30.

Be prepared for large crowds, so book accommodations and transportation early. Public transport operates as usual. The best wat to enter the city is by train on these days. If you’re visiting the Boat Parade, you can also consider getting offt at Amsterdam Amstel Station.
