Main Festivities for Amsterdam’s 750th Anniversary
Opening Concert 750 Years Amsterdam

The opening concert marks the start of Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary celebrations. Dutch musicians, alongside the Metropole Orchestra, will perform a musical tribute to the city. Local icons like André Hazes, Willeke Alberti, and rapper Sef will share the stage with innovative acts. ToekomstTiendaagse (Ten Days of Future)

During this event we will explore Amsterdam’s future. What will the city look like in the coming decades? How will we live, work, and move around? A series of exhibitions, conferences, open days, and competitions will explore these questions. The Future Ten Days will end with a grand celebration on June 21 along the A10 highway. Feest Ring A10 (Party Ring A10)

On the longest day of the year, June 21, 2025, Amsterdam will host a massive celebration on the Ring A10. Fifteen kilometers of highway will be closed for a full day of music, sports, theater, dance, and more. The city is partnering with the government and cultural organizations to create this spectacular event. Details of the program will be announced later this year.
SAIL Amsterdam

SAIL Amsterdam returns in August 2025 for its tenth edition, coinciding with both the 50th anniversary of SAIL and Amsterdam’s 750th birthday. This spectacular maritime event will showcase a fleet of impressive ships and unique watercraft in the IJ River, near Central Station. You can also step aboard historic and modern vessels. Things to Do in Amsterdam for the 750th Anniversary 2024/2025
Musical ‘Onze Jordaan’ (Our Neighborhood, the Jordaan)

Amsterdam’s famous Jordaan neighborhood takes center stage in this special musical. Featuring classic Jordaan songs like “Bij ons in de Jordaan” and “De glimlach van een kind,” the story follows Greet as she looks back on her life in the iconic neighborhood. From the arrival of the YUPs to the vibrant community spirit, this musical offers humor, nostalgia, and deep love for the city. Tickets available at DeLaMar Theater.
Amsterdam 750 Years: electronic.amsterdam Opening Night

Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary wouldn’t be complete without an unforgettable club night! Skatecafé hosts the opening party with top electronic sets from the city’s best DJs. Royal Palace Amsterdam free entry for locals

To kick off Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, the Royal Palace Amsterdam will open its doors exclusively for Amsterdammers on October 27, 2024. Whether you were born in the city or currently live here, you can visit for free—and even receive a special souvenir as a keepsake!
Also, in February 2025, Amsterdammers can enjoy free entry throughout the month. Reserve your spot from early January here.
Workshops at the Amsterdam City Archives

The date of Amsterdam’s birthday comes from a special document, the Toll Privilege of 1275. This document allowed the people of Amsterdam to pass through without paying tolls. The City Archives is organizing a day full of activities, including viewing the original document, enjoying exhibitions, guided tours, and workshops. There will also be lectures about life in medieval Amsterdam and plenty of activities for kids.
