Discover the best wine bars in Amsterdam, including the top spots for natural wine. We love to spend time in a good wine bar. So yes, we’ve explored Amsterdam’s wine scene extensively! This article is your guide to the city’s top wine bars.
Shiraz Jardin des Vins
Hidden in the heart of the city center where you wouldn’t (at least as a local) expect a wine bar with this vibe and quality, you’ll find our all-time favorite! We come here often and it actually feels like you’re in a little bar in Spain or something. They have a menu with sooo many different wines and they also offer specials outside of the menu. The owners are passionate and love to tell you all about the wines. Their snack platters are amazing as well. So if you’re wondering where to drink wine and eat cheese? This is your place.
Please note that they don’t take reservations. It’s a small place and always quite busy, so you may need to wait at the bar for a seat. But it’s definitely worth it!

Belgerette Wines – Wine Cellar Amsterdam
In the middle of Amsterdam behind Dam Square you can find a family owned wine cellar. Our number 2on the list of best wine bars in Amsterdam. This is one of those places you have to know because the experience is truly amazing. You can just take a glass or join a wine tasting!
Bar Parry
A cute little wine bar in the heart of the Jordaan neighborhood. They serve all sorts of wine and small dishes. The setting feels like a cozy living room. They only work with walk-ins.
Chateau Amsterdam
This Urban Winery is definitely a place you should check out if you enjoy wine tastings! They get their grapes from farmers all over Europe and produce the wine right here in the city winery. It’s a fun experience as you get to sit next to the large wine barrels. Besides the tastings, they also offer tours, or you can take a seat in their restaurant and pair your wines with great food.
Would you like to get a better idea of the vibe?

Clos Amsterdam
Clos is a lovely wine bar and restaurant located in Amsterdam East. You can enjoy a relaxed afternoon on the terrace, take a seat at their stunning bar, or have dinner in their restaurant. We’ve had the pleasure of chatting with the owner Rutger, who expressed his desire to create a welcoming vibe where everyone feels at home and it’s just ‘gezellig’ (a Dutch word that doesn’t have an exact translation into English, but you get it, right?!). All the wines at Clos come from small farmers and family businesses.
Cafe Twee Prinsen
At the beautiful Prinsenstraat in Amsterdam, you’ll find Cafe Twee Prinsen, a typical Amsterdam cafe. They serve natural wines and when the weather is good, you can take a seat outside on the canal bridges!
Barrica food & wine bar
We come here regularly because it’s a 3-minute walk from our house! But of course that’s not the main reason we come here, as this is truly a delightful spot. Small but cozy and the food is 10/10. It gives off great neighborhood vibes and when the weather is good you can also sit outside on the terrace. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city!
Rayleigh & Ramsay
Have you ever been to a wine bar where you can pour your own wines? We love this concept! They offer a wide selection of wines to choose from. Grab a glass, decide whether you want to take a sip, enjoy half a glass, or go for a full glass and relish your tasting experience! On Saturdays, they also offer oysters for € 1 each. What do you want more, right?
@welikeamsterdam Episode 1| Looking for the perfect date? Or just a fun night with friends? At this wine bar you can tap your own. On Saturdays Oysters are only € 1 🦪. As a wine (and oyster) lover I would say; run!😍 #dateideas #amsterdam #datenight #thingstodoamsterdam #localamsterdam #oysters #winebar
Bottleshop
A bit of a hipster place, we would say, with a great ambiance located in Amsterdam East. It’s a food and wine cafe that also offers tastings!
Sinck
Definitely a hidden gem in the basement of the amazing restaurant Sinck, you’ll find their wine bar. Located next to the iconic canals in an authentic building, it’s a place not many people know about, but one you definitely want to discover! They have great knowledge about wines and deliver high quality.
Compartir
On their menu, you’ll find over 80 different wines and they open some gems every week. They also offer a selection of natural wines to choose from. The vibe is fantastic and we love to hang out here on weekends. You can make a reservation or just walk in!
Oocker
An impressive menu with over 350 wines to choose from, located in a historic building and the really passionate sommeliers makes this place a must visit. It’s also a great place to come by with a bigger group to enjoy a wine tasting.
Bar Babar
Already at the moment we saw the interior, we were in love! Imagine candles, blush-pink walls, great wines, art on the walls, an intimate setting. Sounds great, right? The menu mostly features natural wines and appetizers from specialty shops.
