Make your way to the stylish and secretive ‘Door 74‘, located right in the city center. This speakeasy bar offers an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere. The perfect place for a romantic evening. The entrance adds an element of mystery. You need a booking and the password to enter. It’s a great hidden gem!
Some other favorites are Zum Barbarossa and Rosalia’s Menagerie.
Visit a Candle Light Concert
Go for a magical experience during your romantic weekend in Amsterdam by attending a Candle Light Concert. We’ve been there already several times and it’s so worth it! Each time they host the event in different locations, such as a church or beautiful museums. You will be surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of candles while listening to live music!
The Skinny Bridge (De Magere Brug) – The Bridge of Love
Among locals this charming bridge, known as the Skinny Bridge, is a symbol of everlasting love. The story goes that when you kiss right under the bridge, you’ll stay forever together! How romantic, right?
TIP >> Rather than taking selfies, capture this romantic moment with a private photographer!
Have Dinner in One of The Most Beautiful Gardens of Amsterdam
Open Tuesday to Saturday 12 AM to 12 PM | Reguliersdwarsstraat 28
Looking for a romantic restaurant? One of our absolute favorites is Lion Noir! Perfect for both lunch and dinner with an absolute stunning hidden garden. In the colder months, the inside is just as cozy, complete with a fireplace to warm up by. The food is as outstanding as the ambiance!
Explore The Canals On a 100-Year-Old Salon Boat
We feel like everything on the water is already romantic, but going on a salon boat takes it to the next level. These 100-year-old wooden boats are so elegant with their vintage interiors. It’s a truly unique and local experience. You can either go for a semi-private salon trip (with a maximum of 12 people on the boat) or if your budget allows it we would recommend a fine dining cruise.
Have a Romantic Picnic Right Next to The Canals
Enjoy a romantic picnic on the wooden boardwalk right next to the Papiermolensluis bridge on the Brouwersgracht. This spot offers an amazing view of the canal, old warehouses, houseboats and is perfect for people-watching. Bring a blanket, uncork a bottle of wine and enjoy the view and your company :).
Visit Some of The Best Sky Bars In Amsterdam
Sip on a cocktail while enjoying panoramic views of the city! Some of the best sky bars to visit include Malabar, LuminAir, Adam Tower, Ventuno and Hasta La Vista Baby. Adding a touch of magic to your romantic get-away in Amsterdam, a visit to one of these sky bars is a must.

Discover the beauty of Hortus Botanicus, the botanical gardens in Amsterdam. It’s a peaceful haven for couples looking for some quiet time. Take a leisurely stroll among colorful flowers, find cozy spots with exotic plants, explore the butterfly garden and have some tasty food and drinks at their beautiful terrace.
TIP >> You can visit the garden year-round as most areas are covered.
Romantic Brunch at Morgan & Mees
Open daily between 8 AM and 11 PM | Tweede Hugo de Grootstraat 2-6
Just a short walk from the Jordaan Neighborhood, you’ll find our favorite brunch spot. Housed in a beautiful monumental building dating back to 1880. It seamlessly blends modern interiors with abstract art while maintaining all the original details of the building. Morgan & Mees is perfect for a romantic (boozy) brunch.
