Museum Night – November 1

Het Amsterdamse Winterterras – November 14 until 30

The Amsterdam Winter Terrace is back, turning the city into one big cozy hangout. For several weeks, a selection of Amsterdam’s best restaurants and bars set up pop-up kitchens and winter bars in a festive outdoor setting.Think heaters, firepits, live music, comfort food, hot cocktails, and plenty of winter vibes.

Climate Comedy Night @ Tolhuistuin with Alex Ploeg & Pepijn Schoneveld – November 20 

After the huge success of previous editions headliners Alex Ploeg and Pepijn Schoneveld (MC) will be joined by rising talents like Djoni Vos and Teun de Vries, turning heavy climate headlines into a night filled with hopeful humor. Experience how laughing together can make the future feel a little lighter. Part of the Warming Up festival, which connects art and culture with the climate.

Kosmos Culinair Dinner & Music @ Tolhuistuin – November 28

A unique combination of music, science, and a five-course vegetarian dinner. Violinist and climate composer Tim Kliphuis presents his piece Kosmos, inspired by nature and conversations with leading scientists. The music is paired with scientific stories and each course of the dinner, turning the experience into a sensory journey that speaks to both head and heart!

Amsterdam Light Festival – From November 27

You can walk or sail along a special route through the city and see Amsterdam transformed into an open-air light museum, lighting up the canals with amazing artworks and glowing installations by international artists. This year, the artworks follow the theme “Legacy,” exploring what we leave behind for future generations!

Ice rink at Museum Square – from November 8

An age-old tradition: Museum Square is turning into an ice rink again! Besides skating, there will be plenty of fun activities like dinner, bingo, a silent disco and more.

Allerzielen @ Vondelpark – November 2

Every year, people gather with candles, poems, photos, and music to honor loved ones who have passed away. It’s a quiet, beautiful evening where strangers stand side by side. They hand out special little boats with a candle inside, so you can release them on the pond, it’s magical.

Yoga at the Van Gogh Museum @ November 9

Each yoga class has a different theme, inspired by the work and life of Vincent van Gogh. The classes last one hour and are taught by teachers from De Nieuwe Yogaschool.

International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) – November 13 until 23 

IDFA is one of the world’s leading documentary film festivals. Since 1988, they’ve been showcasing the very best Dutch and international documentaries. From world premieres and big names to bold new talent. If you love real stories, powerful storytelling, or just discovering something new, this one is a must. Check out the program here. 

Salsa Party @ Papa Zatarra – November 8 

Every second Sunday of the month there’s a salsa party at Papa Zatarra! Not only can you dance all night, you can also enjoy delicious food. There’s a free try-out at 21:30, and the party kicks off at 22:00!

Lying Concert Einaudi’s Underwater @ Fabrique des Lumières – November 6

Lying on a mat, surrounded by stunning sea projections while listening to live piano music sounds like something you don’t want to miss, right? Giant visuals fill the walls, floor, and ceiling, and the sound moves with the imagery. Everything around you feels alive.

The Bijenkorf Christmas Party – November 6

On November 6, De Bijenkorf opens its doors after closing time for a very festive night out! While their iconic Christmas windows sparkle and the entire building is covered in thousands of lights, there’s plenty happening inside. Expect live performances, delicious food (with Chef Daan van der Lecq in the kitchen), the STËLZ CLUB, and of course lots of holiday inspiration. Tickets are €50 incl. food & drinks.
