Fitz’s Bar

Open Tuesday to Thursday 5 PM until 12 PM | Friday and Saturday 4 PM until 1 AM | Mauritskade 61

We absolutely love this place! You’ll find yourself in a roaring ’20s vibe, it’s an intimate setting with dark wooden elements and velvet benches. Fitz’s Bar even won a prize as the best new cocktail bar in town. 

Bar Bukowski

Open daily from 9 AM until 12 PM and in weekends until 3 AM | Oosterpark 10

For the past 10 years, this place has been a true staple in Amsterdam East. At Bar Bukowski, there is just this amazing local vibe! Especially on weekends, it’s always crowded inside and on the little terrace. The bar is divided into two different areas. When you enter, you’ll immediately find yourself in some kind of pub vibe. As you head towards the back a more intimate cocktail bar setting unfolds. We love all the artistic paintings on the walls!

Rosalia’s Menagerie

Open daily from 6 PM until 1 AM |  Kloveniersburgwal 20

Rosalia’s Menagerie is inspired by the rich Dutch history of trading, distilling and innovation. It’s a hidden gem; you’ll only find it if you know about it which makes it even more fun! Located on one of the oldest canals in Amsterdam you can enjoy cocktails and locally made spirits. Absolutely a must-visit if you’re looking for a unique cocktail bar. 

Malabar – Skybar 

Open  Friday and Saturday from 5 PM until 2 AM, Sunday to Thursday from 8 PM until 1 AM |  Javakade 766

Looking to enjoy cocktails with a view? This is the spot for you! Malabar offers unique cocktails and the bar itself is simply stunning, situated entirely in glass on the 9th floor of the Jakarta Hotel. As the name suggests, everything comes with a touch of Indonesian flavors.

Zum Barbarossa – Speakeasy bar

Open Wednesday to Sunday from 7 PM to 1 AM | Voetboogstraat 1

A hidden spot right in the city center, nestled in a cellar with a special ambiance. Expect an intimate setting, dimly lit with red lights and a bartender who is passionate about crafting amazing cocktails. If you desire you can even indulge in a fruit de mer dinner. 

LuminAir – Skybar

Open daily from 11 AM until 12 PM and in weekends until 3 AM | Oosterdoksstraat 4

LuminAir is an elevated sky bar on the 11th floor, where you’ll find yourself literally in the clouds! The menu features cocktails called ‘Lumen,’ inspired by gradients and the intensity of visible light and warmth. We really love the Moon Light cocktail. In good weather, you can also enjoy their big terrace which has great views over the city center.

The Tailor

Open daily from 5 PM until 1 AM | Dam 9

Bar The Tailor pays tribute to the old craft of its founder A.W. Krasnapolsky in tailoring. With several awards, it’s definitely one on our favorites list. You can enjoy sitting on the comfy sofas indoors or on the outdoor terrace at The Tailor. The bar is located in the beautiful Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. 

NEXT NDSM

Open daily from 9 AM until 12 PM and in weekends until 2 AM | NDSM-Kade 2

A stunning cosmopolitan cocktail bar in Amsterdam North. And trust us the cocktails are a 10/10. The bartenders are really skilled and create their own special variants. They infuse their mixes for a few days with all kinds of fruits and herbs. How about a cocktail with a jalapeño or popcorn flavor? Of course they also offer regular signature cocktails. But dare to try NEXT’S variants because they’re gooood!

Pulitzer’s Bar

Open daily from 5 PM until 1 AM and in weekends until 2 PM | Prinsengracht 323

This classic hotel bar can’t be overlooked on our list. It’s stunning! They have a golden Art Deco bar where they create classic cocktails with a modern twist. Pulitzer’s bar offers an intimate setting. Great if you’re coming from dinner and want to stop by a beautiful cocktail bar.

Bar Mokum

Open daily from 5 PM until 1 AM and in weekends until 2 AM | Ferdinand Bolstraat 11

Bar Mokum pays homage to Amsterdam! Enjoy delicious cocktails without any pretentiousness, all made with Dutch spirits. The ambiance is very down to earth, just like Dutch mentality. A great option if you’re not looking for anything fancy, just a very ‘gezellige’ spot!

Barbue 

Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 5 PM until 1 AM| Oostelijke Handelskade 34

Located in the Hoxton Lloyd Hotel, you’ll find this cozy cocktail Barbue. It has an amazing interior, high ceilings and everywhere you look you’ll see beautiful details from the old building. With Argentine influences, you can enjoy delicious cocktails here. This space used to be the ticket office for purchasing boat tickets to South America, where the final destination was Buenos Aires. How cool is that?!

Bar Hachi

Open daily from 7 PM until 3 AM and in the weekends until 4 AM | Albert Cuypstraat 18

With its funky interior and unique cocktails, Bar Hachi located in the Pijp neighborhood feels a bit like entering a fairytale. ‘Be Hachi, be happy’ is their slogan, so you know what to expect ;). 

Bar Twenty Seven

Open daily from 12 PM until 1 AM and in the weekends until 3 AM | Dam 27

A bar you wouldn’t necessarily expect in the middle of the most touristy area, right on Dam Square. Bar Twenty Seven specializes in ‘fine drinking,’ and their interior makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a room from centuries ago – with velvet sofas, chandeliers and beautiful photographs. 

Njoy

Open from Wednesday to Monday from 6 PM until 1 AM and in the weekends until 3 AM | Korte Leidsedwarsstraat 93

Njoy, located right next to Leidseplein, is one of the oldest cocktail bars in town. It offers a fantastic and slightly mysterious vibe with red curtains and candles. It’s not a large place, so we recommend making a reservation in advance.

Tales & Spirits

Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 6:30 PM until 1 AM |  Lijnbaanssteeg 5-7

With an antique interior and surprising cocktail combinations, Tales & Spirits is a charming spot to have a drink or two! They have a huge selection of spirits. Besides that you can also have dinner. Their kitchen stays open late so you can enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace.

Sins of Sal

Ma’dam Restaurant & Skybar 

Open Friday & Saturday from 6 PM until 1 AM | Sunday – Thursday from 6 PM until 10 PM

At the top of the iconic A’DAM Tower, you’ll find skybar Madam, where you can enjoy classic and signature cocktails alongside Asian fusion snacks. The elevator quickly takes you to the twentieth floor for stunning views of Amsterdam. Our favorite cocktails include the Esthablished Spritz with house-made sparkling magnolia tea, Lychee Crush with cardamom, and Spicy Yuzu Garden for a kick. Don’t miss the snacks like shrimp toast and Pani Puri, which pair perfectly with the Asian-inspired cocktails.

Tip: make a reservation during golden hour and experience Amsterdam’s nightlife. After your drinks, you can head to the top floor to view the city from the highest point for a panoramic view that never gets boring.
